Spirit and Life Seminary to Award Credits for IMPACT! Certification

Spirit and Life Seminary has signed a formal agreement with International Children’s Ministries to award certificate-level credit to students who have completed the IMPACT! Level 1 certification program. Through this agreement, students who have completed the ten-course certificate program, in English or Spanish, will be given three credits toward the Seminary’s course, Essentials of Children’s Ministry (CM200). CM 200 is part of the Certificate in Ministry and Theological Studies program at SLS.

“We are grateful to SLS and Dr. Michael Hernandez for this partnership,” said Dr. Shaun McKinley, international director of Children’s Ministries. “This step,” he continued, “affirms the quality, experience, and rigor of the IMPACT! certificate program, as well as encourages our children’s ministers to continue developing theologically and academically.”

The IMPACT! certificate program began in 2009 and presents ten training modules that address specific competencies necessary for effective ministry to children. Since that time, more than 5,000 students worldwide have completed the training and received an endorsement in Children’s Ministry. Modules are presently available online in English and Spanish on the website cgpkids.teachable.com. Level 2 of the program, which will present nine leadership level courses, is anticipated to be released during the Institute of Children’s Ministries in November 2021.

The agreement with SLS does not guarantee a student’s admission to the Seminary. Students will still be required for admission to the Seminary in accordance with rules, policies, and procedures in effect at the time of application.
