The Church of God of Prophecy in the Turks and Caicos Islands marked a historic milestone with a week of celebrations from October 18–25, 2026, commemorating 100 years since its formal organization in the islands in 1926.
Under the theme, “A Legacy of Purpose – A Future of Hope,” the centennial brought together church leaders, members, government representatives, community partners, and visiting worshippers to honor a century of Christian ministry, faithful service and community outreach.

The celebrations reflected the Church’s spiritual heritage and its continuing commitment to sharing the gospel and serving the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands. From its early beginnings in prayer gatherings in Kew, North Caicos, the ministry has grown through generations of devoted believers whose faith, sacrifice, and perseverance have sustained its mission.
The week opened on Sunday, October 18, with motorcade celebrations and a night of praise and thanksgiving at the Blue Hills Church of God of Prophecy, Providenciales. On Monday, October 19, worshippers gathered for an open-air service at the Holy Ghost Marker in Hall Town, Kew, with Rev. Mary Forbes, senior pastor emeritus of the Cox Street congregation, as the speaker.
An old-fashioned revival service followed on Tuesday, October 20, at the Kew church, with Bishop-elect Wilbert Jennings, senior pastor of the Millennium Heights congregation. On Wednesday, October 21, the various ministries of the Church extended the celebration into the community through visits, acts of kindness, and prayer.
Thursday’s heritage and cultural evening, “From Whence We Came,” honored the Church’s roots through old-time worship, hymns, drama, and traditional cultural expressions. On Friday, October 23, the Next Generation Youth Rally, themed “Hope for the Future,” brought young people together through worship and creative ministry, with Dr. Jomo Laidlow as the guest speaker. The evening highlighted the vital role of children and young people in carrying the ministry forward.

A major highlight was the Centennial Gala Banquet, held on Saturday, October 24, at the Bottle Creek Church of God of Prophecy. The occasion combined fellowship, celebration and recognition as individuals were honoured for their dedication, commitment, and outstanding contributions to the Church and wider community. The awards acknowledged the pioneers, faithful workers, leaders, and partners whose service has helped shape the ministry across generations.
The celebrations culminated on Sunday, October 25, beginning with a grand parade from the Holy Ghost Marker in Hall Town, commemorating the early outpouring of the Holy Spirit that helped establish the foundations of the movement. The Turks and Caicos Brass Band led the procession with joyful music, accompanied by members of the Turks and Caicos Islands Cadet Corps and a large gathering of church members and supporters.
At 1:00 p.m., worshippers assembled at the Kew Church of God of Prophecy for the Grand Centennial Thanksgiving Service. Moderated by Rev. Andre Gibson, an associate pastor of the Kew congregation and National Communication Division Director, the service brought together bishops, pastors, and members from across the country, alongside representatives of visiting churches.
Distinguished guests included Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands; government ministers; and Hon. Douglas Parnell, leader of the People’s Democratic Movement. Their presence underscored the national significance of the occasion and the Church’s longstanding contribution to community life.

National Bishop Andrew Stone delivered the anniversary sermon during the joyful thanksgiving service, which provided an opportunity to honor God’s faithfulness, remember the sacrifices of those who paved the way, and look ahead with renewed faith and purpose.
The Church of God of Prophecy extends heartfelt appreciation to its national and local leadership, planning committees, congregations, sponsors, contributors, and volunteers. Special thanks are also extended to the musicians, national choir, Turks and Caicos Brass Band, police officers, Cadet Corps, caterers, decorating teams, building preparation personnel, transport providers, and everyone whose contribution helped make the centennial celebration possible.
As the Church enters its second century of organized ministry in the Turks and Caicos Islands, it remains committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, nurturing the next generation, strengthening families, and serving communities with love and compassion.
Honouring Our Past… Building Our Future.
