The International Offices of the Church of God of Prophecy, together with Presiding Bishop Tim Coalter, announce with deep sadness the passing of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr. We extend our heartfelt prayers and sympathy to the Varlack family and to the countless friends, colleagues, and spiritual sons and daughters around the world who were blessed by his remarkable life and ministry.
Bishop Varlack was one of the great statesmen of the Church of God of Prophecy. Larger than life in both presence and influence, he combined extraordinary wisdom with a keen historical mind and genuine kindness. He was beloved throughout our global fellowship and internationally respected not only within the Church of God of Prophecy but also among leaders of other organizations. His counsel was sought across denominational lines because of his integrity and scholarship.
For decades, Bishop Varlack faithfully served the Church in a variety of significant leadership roles: as Church Historian and Consultant to the General Overseer, Center for Biblical Leadership Instructor, Director of World Missions, a member and chairman of numerous Assembly committees, and in various advisory capacities that shaped the life and direction of the global Church. During pivotal moments in the Church’s history, he was repeatedly entrusted with responsibilities requiring wisdom, discernment, and the confidence of the International Assembly and the International Presbytery.
As a global family, we celebrate a life marked by faithful service, scholarly excellence, spiritual wisdom, and steadfast devotion to the kingdom of God. While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he has now entered the joyous presence of the Savior whom he served so faithfully.

May they know the abiding comfort and peace of the Holy Spirit, and may the Lord continue to honor the enduring legacy of Bishop Adrian L. Varlack, Sr., whose life has left an indelible mark on the Church of God of Prophecy and on the kingdom of God around the world.
