Bishop Koissi Antoine | National Bishop Ivory Coast & Burkina Faso
Bishop Koissi Antoine has been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy since 1986. Throughout his years of ministry, he has served in many capacities, including children’s and youth ministry, evangelism, pastoral ministry, and national leadership. Before being appointed as National Bishop, he pastored five different local churches. Today he serves as the National Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. But his journey of serving God began long before any of these appointments.
A Life Changed by a Miracle
Bishop Koissi was born in Ivory Coast into a large and loving family. He grew up surrounded by seven older brothers and sisters, as well as a younger brother and sister.
When he was nine years old, his life took an unexpected turn. He became seriously ill, and his parents sought every available avenue of treatment. After six months with no cure in sight, his family turned to the Lord.
God answered their prayers and miraculously healed him. That healing not only changed the life of a young boy, it changed the entire family. During those difficult months, he remembers crying out to God and making a promise: “Lord, if You heal me, I will give You all my life and serve You.” He has spent his life keeping that promise.
A Call to Serve
Bishop Koissi recalls feeling an urgent call to ministry deep within his heart and began pursuing that call with passion. At the age of 15, he entered a Church of God of Prophecy training center. By the age of 21, he had been appointed to his first pastorate.
He preached wherever an opportunity arose, including on the streets, on buses, and wherever people would listen. His desire was simple: to share the Gospel and see lives transformed by Jesus Christ.
His first ministry opportunities came through working with children and youth in his local church. Former General Presbyter Bishop Sherman Allen later gave him the opportunity to serve as the national children’s ministry leader in Ivory Coast, followed by serving as the national youth ministry leader.
Alongside these responsibilities, he served as an evangelist before receiving his first pastoral appointment. Through each season of ministry, God continued to shape him as a leader. Today one of his greatest joys is teaching, discipling, and helping others grow in their relationship with Christ.
Faithfulness Through the Challenges
Ministry brings unique challenges wherever God calls us, and serving across Africa often requires tremendous sacrifice. Bishop Koissi has experienced seasons of preaching and ministering with few resources, walking for miles from village to village because there was no transportation, and worshipping in places without electricity.
The demands of ministry have also meant long days, little rest, and exposure to illness and disease. Yet, through every challenge, he has continued to serve faithfully.
In March 2025, he experienced one of the deepest trials of his life when his precious wife, Sister Georgina, passed away following an illness. Throughout their life together, she faithfully supported his ministry through her prayers, encouragement, and presence. Her loss has left an empty place in the family, but her legacy of faith continues.
His children have also walked alongside him throughout his years of ministry, and he remains deeply grateful to God for their support.
A Vision for the Future
Despite the sacrifices and challenges he has faced, Bishop Koissi says his greatest joy is seeing people give their lives to the Lord, witnessing sick people experience healing, and seeing new churches established for the glory of God.
Looking toward the future, he is excited about what God is doing across Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. The church is reaching increasingly into villages and communities, and pastors and congregations are motivated by a desire to see their entire nation won to Christ.
An important part of that vision is investing in the next generation. As the church continues to grow, leaders are committed to training and discipling younger generations so they can carry the Gospel forward.
From a nine-year-old boy who cried out to God for healing to a national leader carrying the Gospel into villages and communities, Bishop Koissi Antoine’s life is a testimony of God’s faithfulness. His story began with a promise to give God his whole life, and decades later, he continues to live out that promise.
Please join us in praying for Bishop Koissi, his children, and the Church of God of Prophecy in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso as they continue reaching their nations for Christ.
