The International Presbytery of the Church of God of Prophecy has prayerfully selected Bishop Tedroy M. Powell to serve as general presbyter for Wider Europe and the Middle East. The selection was made during the International Presbytery’s meetings in Orlando, Florida. His selection was publicly affirmed during the 103rd International Assembly as part of the Parade of Nations celebration on Wednesday evening, July 15, 2026.
Following Bishop Powell’s selection in the International Presbytery meeting, Presiding Bishop Tim Coalter welcomed him and his wife, Alyne, recognizing both their years of faithful ministry and the shared nature of their calling.
Bishop Powell was licensed as a minister with the Church of God of Prophecy on May 30th, 1980, and ordained a bishop in 1997. Bishop Powell has served the Church of God of Prophecy with distinction for decades. He currently serves as national bishop of the United Kingdom and national bishop of Belgium and the Netherlands, while also serving on the shared leadership team for Wider Europe and the Middle East, a role he has held since 2008. His ministry has also included nearly three decades as senior pastor of House of Bread Church of God of Prophecy in London, as well as service on the Assembly Committee for Biblical Doctrine and Polity. He presently serves on the Spirit and Life Seminary Board of Directors.
Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica, and now residing in London, England, Bishop Powell brings more than five decades of pastoral ministry, leadership development, and cross-cultural service to his new assignment. Beyond his church leadership, he has provided significant influence within the broader Christian community through organizations such as Churches Together in England, the Gregory Centre for Church Multiplication, and numerous community development initiatives serving churches and local communities throughout the United Kingdom.
Bishop Powell has pursued advanced theological and leadership education throughout his ministry, including postgraduate theological studies at Durham University, where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in theology and ministry. His educational background is complemented by decades of leadership experience in ministry, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector.
He and his wife, Alyne, have been married since 1975 and have faithfully served together throughout their ministry. They are the parents of three children and grandparents to seven grandchildren.
As general presbyter for Wider Europe and the Middle East, Bishop Powell will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and strategic oversight for the Church of God of Prophecy throughout one of the world’s most culturally and geographically diverse ministry regions. Working alongside national bishops and regional leaders, he will help advance the church’s mission of reconciling the world to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
