Spirit and Life Seminary held its fourth commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17, 2025, marking a significant occasion of spiritual and academic achievement. The event recognized 17 graduates, 15 receiving the Certificate in Ministry and Theological Studies and 2 receiving the Bachelor in Ministry and Theological Studies.
The event was highlighted by the introduction of the seminary’s official Alma Mater, an anthem celebrating the seminary’s mission and community. The ceremony also honored distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to ministry and theological education in the Church of God of Prophecy.
Bishop Ebli De la Rosa was presented with the Legacy of Leadership Award, recognizing his committed service and advancement of ministerial training across the Southeast Hispanic Region of the United States. Hanny Vidal received the Alumnus of the Year Award for her outstanding achievements in ministry, educational excellence, and her continued support of the seminary, including the development of cohorts in Peru and the Dominican Republic.
The ceremony featured student reflections from graduates Silvia House, Francisco Carrasco Perez, and Stephen Parrish, who shared personal testimonies of transformation and growth through their seminary journey.
Dr. Shaun McKinley, a member of the Seminary Board of Directors and executive director of Global Communications, delivered the commencement address, reminding graduates that their graduation is not the finish line, but the launching pad for lifelong ministry empowered by the Spirit.
The ceremony concluded with a dedicatory prayer led by Presiding Bishop Tim Coalter, who thanked God for the graduates and commissioned them to continue reconciling the world to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Graduates and guests also celebrated Spirit and Life Seminary’s recent achievement of receiving accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) and a strategic capacity-building grant for continued program development.
“This day marks more than the end of an academic journey—it signifies a new chapter of Spirit-empowered leadership for the Church and the world,” said Dr. Michael Hernandez, Seminary President. “We are immensely proud of our graduates and deeply thankful for everyone who continues to support our mission.”
