Spirit and Life Seminary Awarded $21,000 Capacity Building Subgrant

Spirit and Life Seminary receives $21,000 grant to enhance distance education and theological training programs.

Spirit and Life Seminary is pleased to announce its selection as a recipient of the Capacity Building Subgrant from the Association for Hispanic Theological Education (AETH), in partnership with Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. The award, totaling $21,000, affirms the seminary’s continued commitment to theological excellence, institutional growth, and global outreach.

In their award letter to the Seminary, the AETH-Garrett Advisory Team wrote that the team “was extremely impressed with the work your organization is doing and believes that the grant will be used for the benefit of the community at large. This recognition is a testament to your team’s dedication, hard work, and exceptional talents…Your program’s consistent determination, creativity, and ability to overcome challenges have always set you apart.”

The five-year Capacity Building Program is designed to strengthen the administrative, instructional, and operational capacities of Bible institutes and seminaries. Funds from the subgrant can be used for curriculum development, instructor training, board governance, software and library resources, and certification preparation. Spirit and Life Seminary will use this funding to enhance its academic offerings, particularly in the area of distance education.

“This grant is a great blessing to Spirit and Life Seminary,” said Dr. Michael Hernández, president of Spirit and Life Seminary. “The funds from this grant will be used to improve the quality of the instruction that SLS already offers and will assist SLS in expanding its outreach to students across the United States. SLS expresses our appreciation to AETH, Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, and the Grant Processing Committee for their efforts towards capacity building for Bible institutes. Spirit and Life Seminary looks forward to witnessing the rewards to be gained from this significant investment in our students.”

Dr. Albert Murza, Academic Dean, added: “We are grateful to AETH for this generous grant, which will greatly improve the quality and delivery of our distance education programs. Thanks to this funding, we can invest in high-quality video lecture production, empowering our faculty with the right tools to create engaging and accessible content. Our students from all over the world truly deserve a learning experience that reflects both academic excellence and innovation.”

Spirit and Life Seminary is excited about the opportunities this investment will provide as it continues to equip Christian leaders for effective ministry in the Church of God of Prophecy and beyond.
