BISHOP DR. JEREMIAH BARKER
Bishop Dr. Jeremiah Barker was appointed international director of Accredited Ministry Development and president of Spirit & Life Seminary for the Church of God of Prophecy during the closing service of the 103rd International Assembly on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Saved at the age of 17, he began his ministry in March 2002, was licensed in May 2006, and ordained a bishop in 2018.
Dr. Barker graduated from Calvary Cathedral Bible College in 2005 with an associate degree in Bible and theology. He later earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Lee University. Desiring to continue his education, he enrolled at Pentecostal Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Counseling degree. The Lord gave him a desire to continue, so he enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Pentecostal Theological Seminary and graduated in May 2024.
He married his wife, Amanda, in December 2006. They have three children, Rebekah, Malachi, and Ariel. After a three-year first pastorate, they have served as pastors for the past 16 years in Abingdon, Illinois.
Bishop Barker is excited to serve the Church of God of Prophecy in this new role. He looks forward to establishing strong relationships throughout the nations and seeing many of our members continue their education and biblical studies. He carries a burden for the younger generation to say yes to God’s call and to be equipped through Spirit & Life Seminary and the other educational partnerships available through Accredited Ministry Development. He looks toward the future with great expectation.
DR. CARLOS PEREZ
Also during the closing service, Dr. Carlos Perez was appointed international director of Youth Ministries for the Church of God of Prophecy. Dr. Perez is a pastor, educator, speaker, and mentor with more than 15 years of experience in ministry and education. He serves as senior pastor of Newark Community Church in Newark, New Jersey, where he has led initiatives focused on spiritual growth, discipleship, community outreach, and youth development.
He also served as principal of Windsor School in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, working with students and families in specialized educational settings. He has collaborated with multiple school districts throughout New Jersey and holds a master’s degree in educational leadership, a master’s degree in theology and urban ministry, and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Carlos has preached and spoken nationally and internationally at churches, conferences, youth programs, juvenile centers, athletic organizations, and leadership events. He has also provided chapel services and spiritual mentorship for collegiate and professional football teams. Before entering full-time ministry and education, Carlos played football at the University of Florida, where he was a three-year starter. He later became a member of the 2004–2005 NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Carlos and his wife, Madalyn, have been married since 2006 and are the proud parents of three sons, Josiah, Xavier, and Sebastian.
REVEREND HUNTER ROBERTS
Hunter Roberts was appointed international director of Global Missions for the Church of God of Prophecy. Since 2022, Hunter has served at the International Offices as executive assistant in the Office of the Presiding Bishop. In this capacity, he has worked closely with denominational leadership on matters of policy, administration, and strategy.
Hunter’s ministry has been shaped by both study and experience. He spent time studying in Santiago, Chile, sharpening his Spanish fluency. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Mississippi State University. There, he also completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Finance, with a concentration in Risk Management. Earlier this year, Hunter graduated with a Master of Arts in Church Ministries from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, with a concentration in global Pentecostalism and mission.
Licensed as a minister in the Church of God of Prophecy in 2019, Hunter’s ministry service began as director of outreach and mission at Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy in Mooreville, Mississippi. Hunter currently chairs the Ministry Policy Manual Revision Task Force and serves as a member of the Global Stewardship Council for the International Stewardship Ministries Department. He is also a member of the Youth Leadership Team at Peerless Church and is active in his local community as a member of the Rotary Club of Cleveland. Hunter has also been appointed to serve on the newly established Assembly Committee for Polity.
