Global Communications Launches “Amplify:” An Intensive for Small Church Communicators

The Church of God of Prophecy’s Division of Global Communications is launching an exciting, new training initiative designed specifically for pastors and ministry leaders of smaller congregations. Amplify, a one-day communication and outreach intensive, aims to equip churches of 100 or fewer people to communicate more effectively, reach their communities with greater impact, and engage their congregations with confidence.

“In today’s noisy world, it’s easy for small churches to feel overlooked or under-resourced,” said Dr. Shaun McKinley, executive director of Global Communications. “But we believe that every church, no matter its size, has a powerful voice that can declare the glory of God to their community and beyond. Amplify is about helping churches rise above the noise and become life-giving voices of hope in their communities.”

Tailored for churches with limited budgets, small teams, and growing communication needs, the Amplify training offers a hands-on, practical experience that will guide participants in strengthening both their message and their methods.

The training is built around five interactive sessions:

  1. Clarifying Your Ministry’s Identity & Brand
This opening session helps churches answer a foundational question: “Who are we?” Participants are guided through the process of articulating their ministry’s vision, mission, and values, then translating that identity into a consistent and recognizable brand across all platforms. The goal is clarity with a renewed sense of purpose and direction in every communication effort.

  2. Strengthening Your Ministry’s Digital Presence
Websites, social media pages, and email lists often serve as a church’s first impression to visitors. This session focuses on building an inviting and effective online presence using real-world tools that work for ministries with limited time, money, or tech expertise. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to improve digital engagement and keep their congregation connected.

  3. Reaching and Retaining Visitors
Attracting first-time guests is only half the mission. Making them feel at home and helping them connect is the other half. In this session, leaders will explore how to cultivate warm environments both online and in person, develop effective guest follow-up systems, and use storytelling to connect hearts and foster long-term relationships.

  4. Marketing Your Ministry in the Community
This session tackles one of the biggest questions facing small churches, “How can people come if they don’t know we’re here?” Participants will discover low-cost, high-impact ways to increase visibility, promote events, and build partnerships in their neighborhoods. It’s about being seen and known—for the right reasons.

  5. AI and the Church: Ethical and Effective Uses in Ministry
Artificial Intelligence isn’t just for tech giants. AI is becoming a practical tool for everyday ministry. This session introduces participants to responsible and creative uses of AI for content creation, communication, and outreach. Participants will learn how to harness the power of AI while staying true to their pastoral voice and mission.

Each Amplify event is designed to be completed in a single day and can be hosted on-site or accessed through virtual participation. Attendees receive a printed workbook, access to ongoing resources, and support from the growing Global Communications network.

“We’re passionate about raising the communication capacity of every church,” said McKinley. “Amplify isn’t about making your church something it’s not, it’s about helping you fully become who you already are, and making sure the world knows about it.”

A limited number of dates are available for scheduling this year. Churches and leaders interested in hosting or attending a session are encouraged to contact the Division of Global Communications at info@cogop.org.
