Authentic Men Making The Mission Possible

A clarion call for authentic kingdom men to respond with alacrity activated the mission for the National Men’s Ministry Jamaica, Authentic Men Conference. The conference conceptualized by our National Men’s Ministry Director Minister Patrick Smith and executed by a dynamic supporting team was convened on 29 March 2025 and 26 July 2025. The two stagings provided opportunities for an all-island engagement and participation of the organization’s male members. With presentations and activities aligned with the theme, “Mission Possible” over 150 males age 16 and over representing the church and community gathered for fellowship and empowerment.

Regions 2&3 comprising the parishes of St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine East, St. Catherine West, Clarendon South, Clarendon North and Manchester were the first to be commissioned for the initial staging held at the Church of God of Prophecy, Naggo Head in Portmore St. Catherine. The event featured a riveting discussion on the topic, “The Man and His Maker, Money and Marriage” facilitated by Bishop Phillip Johnson of the Fingers from the Heart Ministry. A focused message, emphasizing the importance of the male being present and impactful in all spheres of society was delivered by Bishop Dr. Junior Headlam – National Administrative Assistant.

The program, a vibrant flow of activities, provided opportunities for the men to connect for recreation and learning. One key highlight from this staging was the introduction of The Creative Hub – a training session on the fundamentals of music, media and technology. Practical demonstrations on the use of musical instruments (keyboard, drum and bass guitar) were conducted by Bro. Clement Davis as well as programming and operating a public address system. Useful tips for live streaming services and sessions via social media platforms shared by representatives from the National Media and Technology Ministry were very well received.

After a successful launch, the mission advanced to regions 1& 4 combining the parishes of Portland, St. Mary, St. Ann, Trelawny, Hanover & St. James, St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland. The eager anticipation of the males who were gathered at the Church of God of Prophecy, Parry Town, St. Ann was palpable as they worshipped unreservedly and fellowshipped over food and friendly interactions. The main speakers for the day were Bishop Keeble Downie – Parish Administrative Assistant for the parishes of Hanover and St. James and Bishop Phillip Johnson. Both solidly framed the role and responsibility of the man according to God’s design and intention and impressed the need for them to assimilate to their divine identity and take dominion.

The heart of the National Men’s Ministry Director was meaningfully articulated with the execution of this conference. It embodied an intentional plan to transform lives, empower the spiritual mind, nourish the soul and equip the men of Jamaica to participate in the global mission of reconciling lost souls to Christ.

Building on the core values of prayer, leadership, family-focused, evangelism, outreach, and mentorship, all programs and initiatives are designed to incorporate these values for spiritual and social impact. The ministry has remained committed to social development through community outreach activities such as the refurbishing of schools and churches, building homes for the indigent, skills development and providing welfare for retired male leaders.

Armed with a strident mission to reconcile men to right relationship with God and develop male leaders who will positively contribute to kingdom and nation building, the National Men’s Ministry continues to provide an environment for cultivating authentic male leaders who will build strong families and impact the world with the love of God.
