Multiplying Hope: God’s Mission Through the Church of God of Prophecy in North America
When we look across our movement today, there is an undeniable sense that we are living in a Spirit-led season of fruitfulness. God is opening doors, stirring hearts, and establishing new churches and missions in places that desperately need the hope of Jesus Christ. What we are witnessing is not only encouraging, it is miraculous.
As people of the Holy Spirit, the Church of God of Prophecy has embraced a bold and prayerful vision: By the year 2030, we believe God will allow us to see 500 new churches planted and 2,000 healthy churches across North America. This is not a vision born of human ambition, but of divine calling. It is rooted in the Great Commission and energized by his promise: “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
Already, the Lord is doing more than we could ask or imagine. Each month, we hear new reports of congregations being birthed—churches gathering in homes, storefronts, schools, and sanctuaries—places where the name of Jesus is lifted up, the Word of God is proclaimed, and disciples are being made. With each new church comes a new testimony of God’s faithfulness: families restored, lives transformed, and communities touched by the presence of Christ.
A Season of Equipping and Sending
This year alone, we have celebrated a remarkable milestone: Over 1,000 leaders have been trained in Healthy Church Dynamics. These trainings are equipping pastors, planters, and ministry leaders with the tools they need to cultivate Spirit-empowered, disciple-making churches. Healthy churches do not emerge by accident; they are prayerfully built upon biblical foundations, intentional leadership, and a commitment to holistic growth.
We rejoice that so many leaders have answered the call to be equipped. Yet, we also recognize the words of Jesus in Matthew 9:37–38 (NKJV): “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”
The harvest is indeed plentiful. The challenge before us is not the lack of opportunity but the need for more laborers—women and men who will say yes to the call of God, who will plant themselves in neighborhoods and nations, and who will carry the good news of the kingdom with faith and courage. We sense the call of God to our existing churches to MOTHER NEW CHURCHES out of their congregations.
Building Bridges, Tearing Down Walls
The gospel is a message of reconciliation. We are committed to the mission of reconciling the world to Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Wherever new churches are planted, bridges are built—bridges that connect the hope of Christ to the brokenness of humanity. At the same time, walls come down—walls of sin, division, and unbelief that have kept people separated from the love of God.
We cannot underestimate the significance of this calling. Our communities are filled with people who are longing for good news. They may not enter a traditional sanctuary on Sunday morning, but they will respond to a neighbor who shares Christ over a meal, a friend who invites them into a small group, or a church that meets in a community center and welcomes them without judgment. We are praying for and believing God will launch gatherings in living rooms and dining rooms, in homes and apartments all over North America.
As the Church of God of Prophecy, we are committed to being a movement that tears down the walls that keep people from Jesus and builds bridges strong enough to carry his love into every corner of society. This is what it means to be a missional church.
Your Part in God’s Mission
What, then, is God asking of us in this season?
- Pray with Us. First and foremost, we must remain a praying people. Pray earnestly that the Lord of the harvest will send laborers. Pray for the men and women who are already planting churches, often with great sacrifice. Pray for the communities where these new works are being established, that the soil will be ready for the seed of the gospel. Pray for existing local churches and pastors to hear God’s call to plant missions and churches out of those congregations.
- Answer the Call. Some who read these words may sense God stirring their hearts to step forward. Perhaps the Lord is calling you to plant a church, to serve as a missionary, or to lead a gathering in your home that will grow into a congregation. Do not ignore that nudge of the Spirit. When God calls, he also equips.
- Celebrate God’s Work. Let us not lose sight of what he is already doing. Every new church plant, every new mission, every new gathering is a reason for joy. Every mission launched is a testimony to God’s faithfulness. Every leader trained is a sign that the Spirit is at work preparing his people for the harvest.
- Join the Mission. Not all are called to plant churches, but all are called to participate in God’s mission. You can give, serve, encourage, and share. You can be a bridge-builder in your own community by extending love to your neighbors and pointing them toward Christ.
Looking Ahead with Hope
As we press toward 2030, our hearts are filled with expectancy. We do not place our confidence in strategies or numbers alone, but in the Lord of the harvest who has promised to be with us always, even to the end of the age. The vision of 500 new churches and 2,000 healthy churches is not just about organizational growth—it is about lives changed, communities renewed, and the kingdom of God advancing.
This is a time to rejoice in what God has already done and to anticipate with faith what he will yet do. Together, we are part of a movement greater than ourselves—a Spirit-empowered family that believes Jesus is still building his church today.
So, let us pray. Let us go. Let us build bridges and tear down walls. And let us celebrate the incredible, exciting things God is doing in the Church of God of Prophecy in North America.
