Amid the turquoise waters and sun-drenched shores of the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean Islands, the Church of God of Prophecy is a thriving force for the gospel. Spanning 27 nations, over 131,000 believers lift their voices in six languages, declaring the goodness of God. In just two years, nearly 6,800 lives have been transformed through salvation, over 11,000 have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and 3,450 have stepped into the waters of baptism. With 831 churches, 33 missions, and 1,691 dedicated ministers, the fire of revival is burning brightly across the islands. From bustling cities to quiet coastal villages, the Spirit is moving, drawing hearts to Christ and strengthening His church!
Bishop Dr. Clayton N. Martin was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. In 1972 he became a Christian and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He has done much work in youth ministry, particularly in the camping ministry.
In May of 1987 he was appointed pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in George Town Grand Cayman. In 1998 he was appointed as National Overseer for Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Guyana and French Guiana; he served in that position for 12 years. In 2010 he was appointed as General Presbyter for the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean Islands, a position in which he still serves.
He is one of the seven General Presbyters who work along with the Presiding Bishop assisting with the duties of general oversight for the Church of God of Prophecy, worldwide.
Bishop Martin has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Christian Bible College, North Carolina and Master of Arts in Religion and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Connell Theological Seminary, Hamilton Massachusetts.
He along with his wife Sonia, travels frequently to the islands to preach, teach, and encourage God’s people. They are parents of one daughter. He operates with the conviction that “the measure of life is not in its duration, but its donation.” Clayton Martin is seeking to do his best, endeavoring to hear God say, “well done, good and faithful servant.”
