PRAYER MOUNTAIN

When entering the front gates of Fields of the Wood, you will immediately notice “Prayer Mountain” on your left. Located along the right side of the 321 steps to the top of the mountain are monuments depicting 29 biblical teachings. These teaching are inscribed on marble tablets, three feet by four feet attached to each marker. The state responsible for funding each marker is shown along with the engraving.

As you climb Prayer Mountain, you will also see four large markers on your left depicting the restoration of the New Testament truth. During your climb, you will also see two monuments reciting the words of Jesus. One contains the Beatitudes and the other presents the Sermon on the Mount. These two markers are located on either side of the sidewalk prior to reaching the altar known as the Place of Prayer where individuals are invited to spend time in personal reflection and prayer.
