Fulton, MS Church Serves Fields of the Wood

Fulton Church of God of Prophecy youth are living examples of the meaning of servanthood.  They make a trip each summer to FOW, and July 25-26, 2015 was no exception to this annual event.  They arrived Wednesday evening and started early Thursday morning scraping and painting the Psalms of Praise wall, Archway to Prayer Mountain, Arise Shine Marker, Adjacent Marker to Arise Shine, Directional Compass Marker, Archway to Ten Commandment Mountain, Archway to Bookstore, and the All Nations Cross Marker. They worked like the Energizer Bunny, non-stop, until everything was scraped and painted for another year.  Temperatures were in the high 90s but they never wavered from the task at hand.

Brother Winters and his youth leaders have encouraged their young people to give the gift of time to this great heritage.  Faces have changed through the years but the dedication has not.  These young people are our future leaders and we are so proud of them!  Even though some, from years past, have grown up and are now married, away at school or working and can’t make the pilgrimage, I’m sure they feel pride when they visit Fields of the Wood in knowing they had a hand in keeping this tradition alive.

As said by Pastor Tim Winters, “It is a privilege to make this journey each year to Fields of the Wood to work and do our part to maintain the Integrity and Heritage of our beginnings. This was our third year to make this our mission. We look forward to next year when we will return in June to labor for the Lord here in Fields of the Wood.”

If you would like to volunteer your services, we will arrange for your group to stay in the bunkhouse.  It’s equipped with 18 beds, a refrigerator and microwave oven. The men’s bath is equipped with a shower and three stalls and the women’s has four stalls.  Just this year, a shower has been installed in the women’s bath also.  The funds for the new shower were donated by the Spring Place Church in Cleveland, Tennessee.  Thank you Spring Place!
