“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which WE ALSO EAGERLY WAIT for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be CONFORMED to (ginomai: to be made like) His glorious body…” (Philippians 3:20-21)
“…as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered ONCE TO BEAR THE SINS OF MANY. To those who EAGERLY WAIT FOR HIM He will appear A SECOND TIME, apart from sin, for salvation.” (Hebrews 9:27-28) The first time, Jesus came to be, “…DESPISED and REJECTED by men, A Man of SORROWS and ACQUAINTED WITH GRIEF. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely, He has BORNE OUR GRIEFS AND CARRIED OUR SORROWS; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and AFFLICTED. But He was WOUNDED for our transgressions, He was BRUISED for our iniquities; The CHASTISEMENT (mûsâr: the moral principles according to which one should live) for our peace WAS UPON HIM, And by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:3-5)
“I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep (died), lest you SORROW AS OTHERS WHO HAVE NO HOPE. For if we believe that JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14) We will not sorrow because we are eagerly waiting for Him to “catch us up” “Rapture” us to be with Him. “We who are still alive and are left will be CAUGHT UP together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
