Visit to Orphanage in the city  of Nizhyn

In October, a team of 8 people went on a long-awaited trip to the orphanage in the beautiful ancient city of Nizhyn. Each trip brings both joy and sadness—Joy to present the children a living Jesus, to show them love and that they are not forgotten. They need God and us. We    always enjoy playing with them, socializing and helping them to develop creatively. The sadness comes in parting because it is not known at what time the children will have to depart. They are there are usually for 3 months and then taken away  to return with some family back home, or placed in an a different orphanage. So we leave knowing that perhaps we will never see them again, but knowing that Jesus works with their hearts.

More than 60 children in one day and a half have turned into “almost” real Indians.  Their faces were painted, and the feathers were sticking out of their hair. Two teams -“Pioneers” and “Rangers”– have had two unforgettable days.  There were competitions, warm handshakes, joined construction work, skill tests, treasure hunt, and even a meeting with a real Indian.  The camp has made this winter vacation truly memorable.
