The mission of Stewardship Ministries is simply, "Teach our people to give." The mission statement for Stewardship Ministries is "Raise Stewards," based on the belief that the purpose is to raise up faithful stewards versus raising money. If we raise stewards up based on biblical principles, funds will be available. However, if stewardship becomesa another word for fund raising, we will always be raising funds. When we sow seeds of stewardship, we reap a harvest of stewards. Stewardship is a faith view with God at the center that suggests:
  1. God has provided all our resources and is the true owner.
  2. God has given each of us the responsibility to manage these resources as stewards.
  3. God holds us accountable for how we use His resources. The objectives of Stewardship Ministries are as follows:
    • To provide effective stewardship education with a focus on spiritual vitality of the people.
    • To raise an awareness of tithing that empowers local churches.
    • To provide service and resources for estate planning.
    • To teach Biblical principles of personal finance, such as budgeting, retirement planning, and living debt free.

Acting on a mandate from God, many have begun a plan to become debt free. By assuming the   responsibility of being a good steward, saving for retirement has become a priority. As a result of teaching stewardship, planning and budgeting has become a reality to families and to local churches.

During a time of declining resources in many organizations, the revenue—especially the tithe—has remained strong. This is a result of stewardship enlightenment and emphasis. As we personally learn more about God’s faithfulness to us, we discover the true blessing is in the spiritual growth of individuals and families.

Stewardship Ministries has written and produced seven stewardship manuals to be used in local churches during a stewardship emphasis month. Bible study or Sunday school lessons have been taught to all age levels, providing teaching to our children and youth. A guide for church treasurers has been developed. The Church Treasurer’s Guide is a much needed reference of instructions to assist treasurers in keeping good records and reporting properly. The ever changing tax laws have been addressed as well.

The present retirement plan for pastors and church paid employees is taught and administered by Stewardship Ministries.God sees our finances and our faith as inseparable. He uses money to test our faith, obedience, and trust. Jesus said in Luke 16:11, "If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches." Stewardship Ministries strives to be good stewards, teach Biblical stewardship, and become all that God wants us to be.
