II Corinthians 8:20-21, "Taking precaution so that no one will discredit us in our administration of this generous gift; For we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men."
Effective ministry service and wise stewardship depends on deliberate, thoughtful, and prayerful fiduciary decision making which will always be in the best interest of the church-whether the decisions involve far-reaching matters of organizational policy, approval of major transactions, or the management and reporting of church finances.
The Financial Services Department is involved in the infrastructure ministry of the church:
- Visible infrastructure ministry involving processes and systems for the receiving, recording, reporting, budgeting, investing, and disbursing of funds coming into the International Offices; and the
- Invisible infrastructure of norms and precepts (ethics) that support positive human interaction for the benefit of the whole body.
The four highest priority values that direct the actions of the department are:
- Obedience to the Lord (Jesus stated in John 8:29 NIV that He always did what pleased the Father)
- Accountability to God, the leadership, and the membership of this body
- Transparency in our actions
- Servant Leadership rather than positional authority
