More than twenty-five years ago, a youth camp evangelist invited our congregation of teenagers to come to the altar. While I do not remember his name or the details of his sermon, I do recall his invitation to ask the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts about God’s plan for our lives. As I knelt, prayed, and listened sincerely for the Holy Spirit’s voice, I heard His clear call to children’s ministries.

Since that time, I have been active in children’s ministry serving in various roles, including children’s pastor of the Peerless Road Church (2005-2006), administrative assistant in International Children’s Ministries of the Church of God of Prophecy (2002-2003), and as age-level editor (preschool through elementary ages) for One Accord Sunday School curriculum (2009-2012).

As a graduate of Bryan College I earned a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Bryan College and am a licensed bishop with the Church of God of Prophecy. I am presently pursuing my Ph.D. in Religion and Leadership Studies from the University of the Cumberlands.

I have been able to fulfill my passion for serving God by developing leaders, traveling much of the US, as well as the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Africa, and Europe. I also serve as an adjunct instructor with Belhaven University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Oral Roberts University teaching courses in leadership and management.

In September 2018, I began serving as international director of Children’s Ministries for the Church of God of Prophecy. My wife, Stephanie, and I also serve as preschool teachers at our local church. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve some of the most creative, sacrificial, and committed leaders in the church-those who minister to children.

I began ministering at my local church and summer youth camps before I was twelve years old. Since then, God has blessed me with opportunities to minister as a children’s ministry director and youth ministry coordinator as well as serving in various roles in camping ministry, conventions and ministry training in North America.  I’ve also travelled internationally on mission teams and as a trainer for children’s ministry conferences.

I am thrilled to work everyday alongside a few of the most passionate leaders in children’s ministry. Every Wednesday night, I get to hang out with the greatest 1st – 3rd graders there are at Keith Street Ministries. My heart is full as they grow in their relationship with Christ and knowledge of His Word.

When I was 15 years old, I was called into children’s ministry by God and my mom!  I believe her words were, “You’re old enough to teach this class.  You can do it!”  God had already placed in my heart a desire to teach children, and He began to prepare me for a life of ministry.  I have a B.S. degree from Lee University in Math and Science and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I’ve had the privilege of teaching in public schools in both Tennessee and Georgia, as well as, the opportunity to teach at a mission school in Greece.  It has been my joy to serve on the ministry teams of five different churches, and I am currently the children’s pastor at Central Community Church in Chatsworth, GA.  Several years ago, I began to shift from a life of education to a life of ministry.  While I still have the opportunity to teach science to homeschoolers, my greatest joy is being able to introduce children to the love of Jesus.

At the age of fourteen, I said “Yes” to God’s call to serve and minister to kids. Since then, I have actively served in local churches, camps, and various ministry environments. I am now the Associate Pastor of Children at my local church, Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy. It is an exciting time at the church as we are in the process of rebuilding; I am amazed and so thankful for the lessons and practical experience I am receiving while there during this period. In July of 2016, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Ministry Studies from Lee University. My desire is to develop and build relationships with children, their families, and our volunteers that point them not only towards a growing relationship with God, but also fulfilling God’s call for their own lives.
