YOUR PRESENCE…

“You are my Lord; APART FROM YOU I HAVE NO GOOD THING …Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure…You make known to me the path of life; YOU WILL FILL ME WITH JOY IN YOUR PRESENCE, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psa. 16:1-11)

[This psalm is entitled Michtam, which is translate “a golden psalm”, a very precious one, more to be appreciated by us than gold, even much fine gold, because it speaks so plainly of our ETERNAL RELATIONSHIP with the Lord and the great joy we do experience in that relationship, which is the true treasure hidden in the field of the Old Testament!]

“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion BLOT OUT MY TRANSGRESSIONS. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin…Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION AND GRANT ME A WILLING SPIRIT, TO SUSTAIN ME.” (Psa. 51:1-2, 10-12)

[The sin which, in this psalm, David has godly sorrow for, was the foolishness and wickedness he committed with his neighbor’s wife, a sin that should not be spoken of, or thought of, without disgust. His debasing of Bathsheba was the opening to all the other sins that followed; it was as the breaking of the dam. This sin of David’s is recorded for warning to all, that he who thinks he stands MAY TAKE HEED LEST HE FALL! Knowing that if we do fall we must IMMEDIATELY REPENT, and know that we will be reunited with THE JOY OF OUR SALVATION!]

“Those who sow with tears WILL REAP WITH SONGS OF JOY. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, WILL RETURN WITH SONGS OF JOY (Psa. 126:5-6)

[Suffering saints have an abundance of tears. We are in tears often; We share in the many misfortunes of human life, and often times have a greater share in them than others. We do sow in tears; we do the duty of suffering and so answer the intentions of the burdens they are under. Weeping must not obstruct sowing; when we suffer, we have heavenly help!]

“Light in a messenger’s eyes brings JOY TO THE HEART, and good news gives HEALTH TO THE BONES.” (Prov. 15:30)

[Just to see the wonderful works of God, is awesome and beautiful. Those who want God’s mercy know how valuable it is and how seeing that mercy is light to our eyes rejoicing to our hearts! The consideration of this should make us thankful for our spiritual eyesight, that we can see God’s beauty!]

YOU MAKE KNOWN TO US THE PATH OF LIFE, FILL US WITH JOY IN YOUR PRESENCE, ALONG WITH ETERNAL PLEASURES AT YOUR RIGHT HAND!
