“Cast down imaginations [corrupted reasoning], and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST;” (2 Corin. 10:4-5).
Paul taught us this:
“…who has known the mind of the Lord…But WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST.” (1 Corin. 2:16).
So, you see the devil knows that we “have” the mind of Christ so he will attempt to corrupt our ability to reason with doubts and evil thoughts, to distract us from doing God’s will! When the devil attacks me in this way I remember how Jesus responded when He was asked ‘What is the greatest commandment?’
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with ALL YOUR MIND.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” (Matt. 22:37-38)
God has blessed us by giving us the mind of Christ and admonishing us to seize every thought, to bring our thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Col. 3:1-2)
