04-19-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every daysometimes we don’t know just what to say, but this we always know; OUR ABBA FATHER IS ALWAYS WITH US, he will NEVER leave us nor forsake us, so:]

“As for me, I WILL ALWAYS HAVE HOPE; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long– though I know not how to relate them all.” (Psa. 71:14-15)

[My soul cries out with immense joy!]

“I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.” (Psa. 71:16)

[Just think of the great kindness our Abba Father has shown to us!!]

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. THIS WILL PLEASE THE LORD more…[Than any kind of sacrifice I could ever bring.]” (Psa. 69:30-31)

[Please make the desire of our hearts TO BE OBEDIENT TO YOU TODAY Abba Father, as we…]

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psa. 100:4-5)

[Let’s have this testimony today, and express as Paul…]

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but ALSO TO ALL WHO HAVE LONGED FOR HIS APPEARING.” (2 Tim. 4:7-8)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, it is up to us TO SHOUT OUT OUR PRAISE TODAY!]

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off EVERYTHING that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. AND LET US RUN with perseverance [determination] the race marked out for us, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Through Jesus, therefore, LET US CONTINUALLY OFFER TO God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.” (Heb. 12:1-2, 13:15)

LET’S KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS AND OUR HEART’S FILLED WITH PRAISE!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord…

CONTINUALLY OFFERING TO GOD A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: let us throw off EVERYTHING that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. AND LET US RUN with perseverance [determination] the race marked out for us, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

04-16-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day “Jesus said, ‘I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and BELIEVES IN ME will never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus was claiming to have power over death. He was claiming that He was the source of eternal life. He was claiming that even if a person dies physically and they believe in Him, they will NEVER DIE SPIRITUALLY. DO WE BELIEVE THIS? How we answer Jesus’ question concerning His claims about Himself and power over death is the most major decision we’ll ever make. Let’s put it this way: if He didn’t rise from the dead, the decision is easy. Don’t believe Him. But if He did, we have a major decision to make – A DECISION OF LIFE AND DEATH. This is what the Lord presented to His people many years ago:

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death…SO, CHOOSE LIFE in order that you may live…” (Deut. 30:19)

It was then, that the Lord spoke this to His people,

“I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the LORD your God may bless you…” (Deut. 30:16)

God had continuous trouble with His people because of their unwillingness to obey,

“…they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God And did not keep His testimonies…” (Psa. 78:56)

So, what was their problem?

…they did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation.” (Psa. 78:22)

Because of all this unbelief, what do you think God chose to do? Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh.

“For God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him SHALL NOT PERISH, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The opening phrase is traditionally translated as “God so loved the world that…” the actual phrase means “GOD LOVED THE WORLD IN THIS WAY,” with emphasis on WHAT GOD DID, more than why!

JESUS IS THE EXPRESSION OF GOD’S INDESCRIBABLE LOVE FOR ALL OF MANKIND!

Let us worship with a renewed appreciation for God’s love!

THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE!

“Jesus said, ‘I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and BELIEVES IN ME will never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26)

04-14-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every dayDaniel’s desire was to please his Abba Father, so he felt they could not eat the king’s food and drink his wine, so he asked for a strict diet. Though a vegetable diet might have produced that well being of the system in general, and of the countenance particularly, as mentioned here; yet we are to understand that there was a special blessing of God in this, because this special diet was taken for a spiritual purpose ,now referred to as ‘the Daniel fast‘.]

“…Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission…Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, ‘I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head…’ Daniel then said to the guard…’PLEASE TEST YOUR SERVANTS FOR TEN DAYS: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.’ So, he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. AT THE END OF THE TEN DAYS THEY LOOKED HEALTHIER AND BETTER NOURISHED than any…who ate the royal food.” (Dan. 1:8-15)

[The agape (the unconditional love of devotion) love of God and the love of earthly things are not compatible. If we give in to the love of the world, the love of God cannot exist in in us; and if we do not have His divine love, we can have no peace, no holiness, and no heaven.]

“Do not love [agapao] the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world–the lust [desiring something that is not allowed] of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but WHOEVER DOES THE WILL OF GOD LIVES FOREVER.” (1 John 2:15-17)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, Jesus said that we must observe all His sayings, and have our affections and conduct regulated by His Holy Spirit and the Word!]

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them IS THE ONE WHO LOVES ME. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and SHOW MYSELF TO THEM…Anyone who loves me WILL obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and WE WILL COME TO THEM AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH THEM.” (John 14:21-23)

BY OUR OBEDIENCE WE INVITE JESUS TO SHOW HIMSELF TO US!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

JESUS AND THE FATHER WILL COME TO US AND MAKE THEIR HOME IN US!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: Anyone who loves me WILL obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and WE WILL COME TO THEM AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH THEM.!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind (Numb. 23:19)

The fact of the matter is: “…it is impossible for God to lie…” (Heb. 6:18)

So it is no wonder we see this written in the word of God:

“The LORD 1detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” (Prov. 12:22) 1tôêbah: a disgusting thing, disgrace.

Just one more point of fact: Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and THE TRUTH and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)

Jesus reveals this very important fact to his followers: IF you OBEY my teaching,” he said, “you are really my disciples. THEN YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH. And the truth will SET YOU FREE.(John 8:31-32)

So, what will we be set free from? The “spirit of lying”! You see, when Satan became the god of this world, The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe…” (2 Corin. 4:4) one of his features he passed on to us was the “spirit of lying”

“…the devil…not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and THE FATHER OF LIES.” (John 8:44)

What does Jesus mean when He says that the devil is the father of lies, well remember the devil’s very first encounter with human beings:

“Now the serpent was crafty…He said to the woman, “DID GOD REALLY SAY, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’? Eve said: God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden…or YOU WILL DIE.'” “YOU WILL NOT CERTAINLY DIE,” the serpent said to the woman. (Gen. 3:1-4)

What did God actually say?

“…you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it YOU WILL CERTAINLY DIE.” (Gen. 2:17)

Adam and Eve chose to disobey God and inherited thesin nature” which separated them from God (spiritual death) and they passed that “sin nature” on to all mankind: “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Rom. 3:23)

That is why God detests lying, so we must say:

I have chosen the way of truth and faithfulness…” (Psa. 119:30 AMP)

Let’s commit ourselves to be men and women of truth…Bill Stockham

04-08-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

04-08-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day I am going to show you a mystery – something which you have never known before. But what is this mystery? It is this, that we shall not all sleep; we shall not all die; but WE SHALL ALL BE CHANGED:]

“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but WE WILL ALL BE CHANGEDin a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” (1 Corin. 15:51-52)

[In an indivisible point of time. In the twinkling of an eye; quicker than we can wink; which expressions show that this mighty work is to be done by the almighty power of God, as he does all his works, HE CALLS, AND IT IS DONE:]

IN A FLASH, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and WE WILL BE CHANGED.” (I Corin. 15:52)

[We are taught that God has a divine trumpet: this trumpet shall be blown, so that the sound of it shall extend from one end of the earth to the other. At the first blast the earth shall be shaken; at the second, the dust shall be separated; at the third, the bones shall be gathered together; at the fourth, the dead bodies shall become warm; at the fifth, the heads shall be covered with skin; at the sixth, the souls shall be rejoined to their bodies; at the seventh, all shall revive and stand clothed, then WE SHALL ALL RISE!]

“When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “DEATH HAS BEEN SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? But thanks, be to God! HE GIVES US THE VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corin. 15:54-55, 57)

[All this he has done because of His merciful, beautiful grace!  And our eternal thanks are due to God for this unspeakable gift. HE HAS GIVEN US THE VICTORY OVER SIN, SATAN, DEATH, THE GRAVE, AND HELL.]

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. LET NOTHING MOVE YOU. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (I Corin. 15:58)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, listen to what our awesome Lord and savior promised:]

“…I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME BACK AND TAKE YOU TO BE WITH ME that you also may be WHERE I AM.” (John 14:2-3)

NOTHING CAN PREVENT THE LORD FROM RETURNING TO TAKE US WITH HIM!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

JESUS WILL COME AND TAKE US TO BE WITH HIM!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: I WILL COME BACK AND TAKE YOU TO BE WITH ME that you also may be WHERE I AM!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

03-28-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

03-28-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every dayThe Word of God has been preserved for us, why? Because our Abba Father wants us to recognize its excellent value in our lives; the importance of us hiding it in our hearts; then speaking the word as if it is our own!]

“For the word of God is ALIVE AND ACTIVE. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)

[Many groups of people have translated the word and there are many versions available; so which one do we use? I am mostly a KJV person; all my memory work has been KJV. I now realize that many people like the ease of reading the NIV, it’s important to remember this; it is the Holy Spirit that makes the word alive to us, so get in in your heart any way you can!]

“EVERY WORD OF GOD IS FLAWLESS; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.(Prov. 30:5)

[Our Abba Father taught His people to write out the Word of God so it could be seen by all! David said this about the word:]

“I have HIDDEN YOUR WORD IN MY HEART that I might not sin against you.” (Psa. 119:11)

[As we hide the word we can declare:]

“…the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart SO YOU MAY OBEY it.” (Deut. 30:14)

[The Word declares and teaches us about our Lord and Saviour Jesus:]

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. He was with God in the beginning. THE WORD BECAME FLESH and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-2, 14)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, when we learn the word we learn this:]

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head, are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and HIS NAME IS THE WORD OF GOD.” (Rev. 19:11-13)

REMEMBER; EVERY WORD OF GOD IS FLAWLESS!!!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND ACTIVE!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: Jesus is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and HIS NAME IS THE WORD OF GOD.!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

03-24-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

03-24-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day“If I 1regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear;” (Psalms 66:18) 1râ‘âh: to see, observe, consider, look at, give attention to

So, if we are giving our attention to living in wickedness, the Lord will NOT GIVE attention to our cries for help! But, can He hear our cries? Yes, because He is not deaf! The Lord will not help us so we can continue in wickedness because:

“…God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, but TO SAVE THE WORLD through him.” (John 3:16-17)

Ok, what must we first do to get the help we need? Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

2Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of 3refreshing may come from the Lord,” (Acts 3:19) 2metanoeō: involves a turning, with sorrow, from sin to God. 3anapsuxis: reviving with fresh air. Here is the problem, when we are living a wicked life we are DEAD TO GOD: “…I was alive…but…sin sprang to life and I DIED.” (Rom. 7:9).

Therefore, we need to turn away from sin and turn to God so we may be revived with the “breath of fresh air” of the Holy Spirit!

“…the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (Job 33:4)

What a day it was for me May 17, 1972, at age 29, I stepped into my private restroom, closed the door “someone” put their arms around and said “Bill. I love you!” Those words penetrated me and filled me with godly sorrow because, you see, I was a sinner, I was addicted to drugs and alcohol along with the sinful life style that goes along with that. I dropped to my knees and cried out to God “I AM SORRY!” Immediately I felt this great weight lifted from me that I was not even aware of, and I became “alive” to God. Two days later I attended my first revival and when the prayer call was given I hurried to the altar because I knew there was so much more for me. The Lord spoke to me, “Bill, go home and dump your drugs and alcohol down the toilet!” I obeyed and the Lord sanctified me. Instantly, I was delivered form all my addictions and notice that everything around me was so beautiful, I was alive!!!

He saved us. It wasn’t because of the good things we had done. It was because of his mercy. He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us NEW LIFE.” (Titus 3:5)

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: He saved us by washing away our sins. We were born again. The Holy Spirit gave us NEW LIFE.!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

03-23-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

03-23-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every dayWe must “…bring into captivity EVERY THOUGHT TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST;” (2 Corin. 10:4-5)

The enemy of our soul has a fulltime job of discouraging us, to keep us from experiencing and living in, THE JOY OF THE LORD! Why? Because joy is very contagious!!! Therefore, we are under continual bombardment being tempted with thoughts that are bad for our spiritual health. So, just as when we are prescribed by the doctor to take a certain type of medication for our health, for it to work, we must take it consistently! Paul was inspired by our LORD, who happens to be the GREAT PHYSICIAN, to bring into captivity EVERY THOUGHT in obedience to Christ! Is this a challenging task to accomplish? Yes! How do we accomplish such a task? Remember this:

“… WE HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST. (1 Corin. 2:16)

Paul prayed for us: “…that you, being rooted and established in love, MAY HAVE 1POWER, together with all the saints, TO GRASP HOW WIDE AND HOW LONG AND HOW HIGH AND HOW DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST, and to 2KNOW this love that surpasses [goes beyond] knowledge–that you may be FILLED TO THE MEASURE of ALL the FULLNESS OF GOD.” (Eph. 3:17-19) 1katalambanō: to lay hold of with one’s mind, to understand, perceive, learn, comprehend, on a continual basis! <†

2γινώσκω, ginōskō: to “KNOW” absolutely, INTIMATELY.

Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, this is not a one-time event, as we know, the devil never eases up on his attack, so we must not ease up on filling ourselves up repeatedly, you know like we do in our automobiles, to assure we are “topped-off” with ALL of God’s fullness!!! The Lord inspired me to write these devotions, daily, as a resource to help keep us in His fullness! So, it is my prayer, and it blesses me, for you to be greatly blessed as you take precious time out of your busy schedules to read them! Thank you!!!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: that you may be FILLED TO THE MEASURE of ALL the FULLNESS OF GOD!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

03-16-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

03-16-17 Devotion (For my loved ones)

[My awesome, loving and wonderful Grandchildren, Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every dayListen to Samuel’s powerful statement to the people of Israel:]

But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him FAITHFULLY WITH ALL YOUR HEART; consider what great things he has done for you.” (1 Sam. 12:24)

[Always be honest, and always be sincere; with all your heart – make sure to have every ounce of your strength to work in the act of obedience to our Abba Father; act not merely from an attitude of duty, but also from a devout, affectionate sense of responsibility. Act towards your God as a loving child should act towards a tender and loving parent.]

“Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes! Then Samuel called on the LORD, and that same day the LORD sent thunder and rain. SO, ALL THE PEOPLE STOOD IN AWE OF THE LORD and of Samuel.” (1 Sam. 12:16, 18)

[Samuel’s desire was for the people to “know” their God, but they wanted a king. Oh, Lord help us TO LEARN TO WANT WHAT YOU WANT!]

“When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?” “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied. “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet IF YOU SEE ME WHEN I AM TAKEN FROM YOU, IT WILL BE YOURS–otherwise, it will not.”(2 Kings 2:9-10)

[Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh, we must be willing to learn under the loving care of a man or woman of God! When we see someone, God is using and blessings are being poured out through their ministry; keep your eyes on them!]

“Jesus answered, “…The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and THEY FOLLOW ME. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE. (John 10:25-30)

WE BELONG TO JESUS, NO ONE CAN TAKE US AWAY FROM HIM!!!

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:

JESUS SAID: MY SHEEP LISTEN TO MY VOICE;

                    I KNOW THEM,

                       AND THEY FOLLOW ME!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and THEY FOLLOW ME.!!!] That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh
