WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD…

“Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the Kingdom of God IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE OBSERVED, they can’t say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘There it is!’ You see, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.” (Luke 17:20-21)

Jesus Christ is the King of King’s and Lord of Lord’s of the Kingdom of God. It is God’s Kingdom and it is only by Jesus that we may enter this Kingdom. So, how do we enter the Kingdom? Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6)

Then later Jesus said: “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God UNLESS THEY ARE BORN AGAIN.” (John 3:3)

So, what will we experience in the Kingdom of God?

“For the kingdom of God is…a matter of…RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE AND JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRITand POWER.”  (Rom. 14:17, 20)

What can keep us out of the Kingdom of God?

“…walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh…The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that THOSE WHO LIVE LIKE THIS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. (Gal. 5:16-21)

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND; REPENT AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL.

ARE WE DOING ALL GOD WANT’S US TO DO…

“His divine power HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING WE NEED for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Pet. 1:3)

We may wonder how we can do what God has called us to do but remember this: “Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR YOU.” (Jer. 32:17)

We can always depend on God to lead us in the right direction…

“God, YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT IS RIGHT. You look deep down inside the hearts and minds of people. (Psa. 7:9)

There is so much to be done for the Lord and unfortunately not many who are willing to do what God wants, so, we must present ourselves to God as living sacrifices, will do whatever God needs us to do! Because he tells us: “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR ME?” (Jer. 32:27)

Let’s believe God, that whatever He would have us do, He will enable us to do it

“Jesus came and said: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS (Matt. 28:18-20)

THE POWER OF DOUBT…

“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and DOES NOT 1DOUBT IN HIS HEART, but BELIEVES THAT WHAT HE SAYS WILL COME TO PASS, IT WILL BE DONE for him.” (Mark 11:23) 1distazō to lack confidence in, to consider unlikely

We all have suffered “doubt” at various times in our life, it is a very powerful weapon of the enemy of our soul…

“The thief comes only to 2steal and kill and destroy…” (John 10:10) 2Kleptō: to take away.

The devil wants us to doubt, he wants to take our faith away, WHY“…without faith IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD, because anyone who comes to Him MUST BELIEVE that He exists and that HE REWARDS those who earnestly seek Him.” (Heb. 11:6)

You see, God loved us so much that He gave up His Only Son, so we would receive Him and believe Him, because:

“…we are 3AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, as though God were making an appeal through us…” (2 Corin. 5:20) 3presbeuó: a respected official acting as a representative

To be an effective ambassador, we must believe God and not doubt in what He can do through us

HERE I AM LORD, USE ME…

GETTING OUR PRAYERS THROUGH…

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARS US. If we know that God hears what we ask for, we know that we have it.(1 John 5:14-15)

When our desires line up with His will, that’s what is important. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God’s will, God will respond powerfully!

“Very truly I tell you, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME WILL DO the works I have been doing, and they will do EVEN GREATER things than these…” (John 14:12)

What is the will of God here? WE MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS, then we will do the works He did, and even greater things!!! So, we must believe that Jesus can EMPOWER US to do these miraculous things…

“Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, WALKED ON THE WATERBUT when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me! Jesus…caught him. You of little faith,” he said, WHY DID YOU DOUBT?” (Matt. 14:28-31)

When we are distracted by the devil, we begin DOUBTING AND TAKING OUR EYES OFF JESUS, we WILL NOT DO the works He did. Peter, after a time of PRAYER AND FASTING, BELIEVED JESUS:

“…they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as PETER CAME BY AT LEAST HIS SHADOW might fall on some of them…and THEY WERE ALL HEALED.” (Acts 5:15-16)

WE WILL DO EVEN GREATER THINGS THAN THESE…

THE POWER OF FASTING AND PRAYER…

Prayer and fasting is voluntarily going without food to focus on prayer and fellowship with God. Prayer and fasting often go hand in hand, having a dedicated time of prayer and fasting is not a way of manipulating God into doing what we desire. Rather, it is simply forcing ourselves to FOCUS AND RELY ON GOD for the strength, provision, and wisdom we need so, we may become more like Christ. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out.

God’s people failed at fasting… “’Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet on the day of your fasting, YOU DO AS YOU PLEASE…your fasting ends in quarreling and strife…you cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.” (Isa.  58:3-4)

When we deprive ourselves of food we must be aware of temper flare-ups! So, does prayer and fasting work?

“Jonah, proclaimed, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” THE NINEVITES BELIEVED GOD. A fast was proclaimed…by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people…taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.” (Jonah 3:3-5, 7)

God sent Jonah to warn Nineveh that they would be destroyed because of their evil ways but they repented with prayer and fasting

“God saw what they did. They stopped doing what was evil. So, he took pity on them. HE DIDN’T DESTROY THEM as he had said he would.” (Jonah 3:10)

More than 120,000 PEOPLE WERE SPARED because of prayer and fasting

WHAT HAPPENS WITH OUR PRAYERS…

“…WHEN YOU PRAY, go into your room, close the door and PRAY TO YOUR FATHER…” (Matt. 6:6)

Prayer is the way we communicate with our heavenly Father, we express our love and adoration to God and let Him know of any needs we or others may have. The Lord says:

“Call to me and I WILL ANSWER YOU and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jer. 33:3)

If two people communicate with one another, they are able to have a satisfactory relationship…Ok, so what do our prayers accomplish?

“…The effective enthusiastic prayer of a righteous man 1AVAILS MUCH.” (Jam. 5:16) 1ischuō: to have or exercise force.

“May my prayer be set before you LIKE INCENSE…” (Psa. 141:2)

God’s plan for us concerning prayers is this; He collects our prayers into vials as incense. Then, according to the amount of incense from our prayers God adds that amount of grace and power and pours it out on the ones we are praying for. The more incense the more GRACE AND POWER that gets poured out…

“…the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had…golden bowls full of incense, which are THE PRAYERS OF GOD’S PEOPLE.” (Rev. 5:8)

PRAY, SO GOD’S GRACE AND POWER MAY BE POURED OUT!

OK, I NEED TO FAST, HOW…

“…WHEN YOU FAST, put oil on your head and wash your face…” (Matt. 6:17)

When we fast, we willingly deprive the body of nourishment and the pleasurable taste of food. The body requires food for sustenance; therefore, our hearts and minds must be totally focused and directed towards God so that He may be the FULL SOURCE OF OUR STRENGTH during our period of fasting.

  1. COMPLETE OR TOTAL FAST:

Moses (Exodus 34:28), Elijah (1 Kings 19:8), the people of Nineveh (Jonah 3:7). In each of these cases people went for extended periods of time without food or water. This type of fasting should only be done with specific direction from God.

  1. NORMAL FAST:

The normal fast is without food, drinking water only. (Matthew 4:1-4) Jesus went on a 40 day fast and afterwards was hungry not thirsty.

  1. DANIEL FAST:

It’s a partial fast where some foods are eaten while others are restricted.  “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given VEGETABLES TO EAT AND WATER TO DRINK.” (Dan. 1:12)

We should seek the Lord about how He would have us do a fast. Fasting brings about awesome results because it shows the Lord that we are serious about or relationship with Him…

This is our promise for what will happen when we fast: “Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 58:8)

WANT TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP, GO ON A FAST…

-Bill Stockham

“WHEN” DOES NOT MEAN “IF”…

“…WHEN YOU FAST, anoint your head and wash your face…that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret WILL REWARD YOU.” (Matt. 6:17, 18)

This statement by Jesus indicates that HE EXPECTS US TO FAST, so what is the purpose of fasting?

The LORD SAYS: Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to lose the bonds of wickedness…is it not to share your bread with the hungry (Isa. 58:6-7)

Fasting causes us to draw closer to God and be more like Christ!

“Then your light will break forth like the dawn…your healing will quickly appear…your righteousness will go before you…the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard…you will call, and THE LORD WILL ANSWER; you will cry for help, and he will say: HERE AM I. “If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk…” (Isa. 58:8-9)

So, when we fast we can expect to: “…FIND YOUR JOY IN THE LORD, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land…For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 58:14)

WE WILL SEE REMARKABLE RESULTS AND BE GREATLY BLESSED THRU FASTING…

OUR MIGHTY GOD…

I PRAY FOR A VERY HAPPY AND VERY BLESSED NEW YEAR TO YOU! Knowing that our Mighty God has sent his Spirit to convince men of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

THE MIGHTY GOD, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.” (Psa. 50:1)

Our Abba Father says: Gather my saints, those who are saved from their sins and made holy, together unto me. And that the word saints might not be misunderstood it is explained by those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice; those who have entered union with God, through the sacrificial offering of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” (Psa. 50:5) “Offer unto God thanksgiving…And CALL UPON ME IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE: I WILL DELIVER YOU, AND YOU SHALL GLORIFY ME.” (Psa. 50:14-15)

I want to remind you of a miraculous healing to demonstrate how God will DELIVER US in the day of trouble: A few years ago, Lauren Harding went for her pregnancy checkup and the doctors discovered some very serious problems. All the family and friends joined together in prayer and the next checkup showed that ALL IS WELL!  O, WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, HE HAS GIVEN US NEW BIRTH INTO A LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and INTO AN INHERITANCE THAT CAN NEVER PERISH, SPOIL OR FADE. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power UNTIL THE COMING OF THE SALVATION that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Pet. 1:3-5)

Let us start out this New Year with anticipation of what the Lord will do in our lives for His glory!

WE SERVE A MIGHTY GOD TODAY!

THE END AND THE BEGINNING…

Please be blessed as you read these scriptures.

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come…” (Isaiah 46:10)

THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST…Blessed IS HE THAT READETH, and THEY THAT HEAR THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY, AND KEEP THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN THEREIN: for the TIME IS AT HAND.(Rev. 1:1-3)

Revelation begins with John, the last surviving apostle and an old man, in exile on the small, barren island of Patmos. The Roman authorities had banished him there because of his faithful preaching of the gospel. John received a series of visions that laid out the future history of the world. Revelation is first and foremost a revelation about Jesus Christ (1:1). The book depicts Him as the risen, glorified Son of God ministering among the churches (1:10), as “the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth” (1:5), as “the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End(1:8), as the one “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” (1:8), as the First and the Last (1:11), as the Son of Man (1:13), as the one who was dead, but now is alive forevermore (1:18), as the Son of God (2:18), as the one who is holy and true (3:7), as “the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God” (3:14), as the Lion of the tribe of Judah (5:5), as the Lamb in heaven, with authority to open the title deed to the earth (6:1), as the Lamb on the throne (7:17), as the Messiah who will reign forever (11:15), AS THE WORD OF GOD (19:13), as the majestic KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, returning in glorious splendor to conquer His foes (19:11), and as “the Root and the Offspring of David, THE BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR(22:16).

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which IS, and which WAS, and which IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY.” (Rev. 1:8)

WE MUST KEEP THE THINGS THAT ARE WRITTEN, EVERY DAY!
