REVEALED BY HIS SPIRIT…

“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”– the things God has prepared for those who love him– these are the things God has REVEALED TO US BY HIS SPIRIT. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God…” (1 Corin. 2:9-10)

When I was gloriously saved I was working as a design engineering in a very competitive marketplace. I was blessed to have designed and patent systems for the Graphic Arts Industry, so as I began, for the first time at age 29, to study the bible, I felt I could understand because of my intellectual abilities. As I studied my feeling was that I had a good understanding, then I arrived at Romans 6, discovering that I had no idea what it was talking about. So, I asked the Lord TO REVEAL TO ME WHAT THE MEANING WAS. He led me to the above scripture!

“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, SO THAT WE MAY UNDERSTAND WHAT GOD HAS FREELY GIVEN US. (1 Corin. 2:12)

Take note, there are wonderful things which God hath prepared for those of us who love him, and wait for him. There are such awesome things prepared for our future life, things which sense cannot discover, present information cannot deliver to our ears, or can enter our hearts. Life and immortality are brought to light through the gospel, 2Tim. 1:10. But the apostle speaks here of the subject-matter of the divine revelation concerning the gospel!

Don’t you know that YOU YOURSELVES ARE GOD’S TEMPLE and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst…YOU TOGETHER ARE THAT TEMPLE. (1 Corin. 3:16-17)

Christ by his Spirit dwells in all of us. We are sacred to God! If we are the temples of God, we must do nothing that shall separate ourselves from him, we cannot corrupt and pollute ourselves, and in so doing make ourselves unfit for his use; and we must not listen to doctrine that would seduce us to any ungodly practices!

“…the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight…The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile. (1 Corin. 3:18-20)

Something awesome happened to me as I began seeking my Abba Father for divine revelation, He opened my understanding to His word and continues to do so each day. There is an infinite source of revelation, all from THE LOVING AND LIVING WORD OF GOD!

WE OURSELVES ARE GOD’S TEMPLE AND GOD’S SPIRIT DWELLS WITHIN IN US!

NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD…

  • ♫What can wash away my sins,
  • Nothing but the blood of Jesus
  • Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
    ,
  • Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

“…when Christ appeared as a high priest…He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands…THROUGH HIS OWN BLOOD, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption…THE BLOOD OF CHRIST…will…CLEANSE YOUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS to serve the living God? (Heb. 9:11-14)

Let’s thank Jesus for shedding His blood, for our redemption and sanctification…

“For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands…He entered heaven itself, now TO APPEAR FOR US IN GOD’S PRESENCE. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again…” (Heb. 9:24-25)

Christ did not have to come back year after year as the priests did…

“He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is APPOINTED FOR MAN TO DIE ONCE, AND AFTER THAT COMES JUDGMENT, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but TO SAVE THOSE WHO ARE EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM.” (Heb. 9:26-28)

Jesus is eagerly waiting to raise us up and give us eternal life!

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST WILL CLEANSE OUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS

I AM FORGIVEN…

Jesus told His disciples: “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and REPENTANCE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS WILL BE PREACHED IN HIS NAME TO ALL NATIONS…” (Luke 24:46-48) Repentance: metanoia: turning away and forsaking, the divine changing of one’s mind. Forgiveness: aphesis, a dismissal, release, to be pardoned! So, when we turn away and forsake our sins, we will be pardoned or released from the consequences of sin. Jesus suffered and shed His blood to make this available to us!!!

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses COMMANDED US TO STONE SUCH WOMEN. NOW WHAT DO YOU SAY?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to WRITE ON THE GROUND WITH HIS FINGER. (John 8:3-6)

Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground, but He was really “writing” in their hearts, He was revealing their sins to them. Then He said:

“Let any one of you WHO IS WITHOUT SIN be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7)

Of course none of them were without sin so they began to walk away! I’m so glad Jesus knows the hearts of those who would do us harm and He can speak to their hearts!

“Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and LEAVE YOUR LIFE OF SIN.” (John 8:10-11)

Jesus will not condemn those who, although they have sinned, will go and sin no more. He will not condemn us for our former rebellions, if we will lay down our sins and return to our commitment to follow Him. Jesus’ favour to us is the remission of the sins that are past, and this should be a divine motivation for us TO GO AND SIN NO MORE!

“Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and HE WILL HAVE MERCY ON THEM, and to our God, for HE WILL FREELY PARDON.” (Isaiah 55:7)

This kind discovery of God’s good-will to the children of men is not to just to the Jew or to the Gentile, to the Old Testament or to the New. No, both the teachings and the promises are here given TO ALL, TO EVERYONE THAT IS HUNGRY FOR AND THIRSTS AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS!

WHEN WE TURN TO THE LORD, HE WILL HAVE MERCY ON US, FOR HE WILL FREELY PARDON!

GIVING STRENGTH TO THE WEARY…

Our Abba Father asks us this question: “Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor? WHOM DID THE LORD CONSULT TO ENLIGHTEN HIM, AND WHO TAUGHT HIM THE RIGHT WAY? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?” (Isa. 40:13-14)

God’s power is unlimited, and none of His creation can compare with it: 1. He has an INFINITE REACH. As we view the celestial globe, aren’t we astonished at the magnitude of it; 2. He has INFINITE STRENGTH, and can as easily move mountains and hills as the craftsman heaves his heavy loads onto the scales and out of them again; he holds them in his hand exactly as easily as a child holds a toy. 3. HIS WISDOM IS INFINITE, and none of His creation can give information or direction to Him. No one can do what God has done and is still doing, so no one can assist him in the doing of it or suggest anything to Him which He has not thought not of!

DO YOU NOT KNOW? HAVE YOU NOT HEARD? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth…HE STRETCHES OUT THE HEAVENS LIKE A CANOPY, AND SPREADS THEM OUT LIKE A TENT TO LIVE IN.” (Isa. 40:21-22)

Our God is a great God, and a great King above all gods?” It has been a universally truth to admit that there is an infinite Being who is the source of all beings. This is understood ever since the beginning of the world, from and by the beginning of the universe!

DO YOU NOT KNOW? HAVE YOU NOT HEARD? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. HE GIVES STRENGTH TO THE WEARY AND INCREASES THE POWER OF THE WEAK.” (Isa. 40:28-29)

He is himself an almighty God. He is the everlasting God, even Yahweh. He was from eternity; he will be to eternity; therefore, with him there is no insufficiency, no deterioration. He exists by himself, and therefore all his perfections are unlimited. He is without beginning or ending, and as a result with Him there is no change. He is also the Creator of the whole earth and all that is in it. He therefore is the rightful owner and ruler of all!

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but THOSE WHO HOPE IN THE LORD WILL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH. They will SOAR on wings like eagles; they will RUN and not grow weary, they will WALK and not be faint.” (Isa 40:30-31)

WE WHO HOPE IN THE LORD WILL BE RENEWED IN OUR STRENGTH.

-Bill Stockham

HATING EVIL…

“LET THOSE WHO LOVE THE LORD HATE EVIL, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psa. 97:10)

Our Abba Father preserves or guards the lives of His saints; and wonderfully delivers us out of the hand of the wicked, precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. But something more is meant than our lives; for when we choose to be his disciples we must be willing to LAY DOWN OUR LIVES, and not just secure it. It is the immortal soul that Jesus preserves, the inward man, which is renewed more and more as the outward man decays!

LIGHT SHINES ON THE RIGHTEOUS and joy on the upright in heart.” (Psa. 97:11)

Jesus told his disciples, as He was about to leave this world (John 16:20), you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. Joy is sure to the upright in heart, to those only that are sincere in their relationship with the Lord. The joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment. As we grow in our love for the Lord Jesus,  we must MAKE SURE THAT WE HATE EVIL, the evil of sin, and everything that is offensive to Him. OUR JOY SHOULD LIKEWISE CONFIRM OUR LOVE FOR OUR ABBA FATHER!

“Rejoice in the LORD, YOU WHO ARE RIGHTEOUS, and praise his holy name.(Psa. 97:12)

Be thankful that we can live in righteousness and PURE JOY, because of our relationship with Jesus!

AS HE MAKES KNOWN TO US THE PATH OF LIFE; HE WILL FILL US WITH JOY IN HIS PRESENCE, WITH ETERNAL PLEASURES AT HIS RIGHT HAND!

SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE…

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and WHO CORRECTLY HANDLES THE WORD OF TRUTH.” (2 Tim. 2:15)

[‘Correctly’ comes from the word orthotomeō: to make a straight cut, that is, to dissect, to rightly divide. When we present the gospel, we must remember we are handling THE WORD OF GOD! So, we must honor the Word of God, respect the Word of God and most importantly pray over the Word of God, pray that Our Abba Father will reveal the Word to us, so we may reveal it to others!]

Avoid godless chatter, because THOSE WHO INDULGE IN IT WILL BECOME MORE AND MORE UNGODLY. Their teaching will spread like gangrene…” (2 Tim. 2:16-17)

[Avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk. We can turn the radio or television on today and witness plenty empty and useless talk, people may say whatever they want with no accountability and lead many astray, but we must “speak the truth in love” Eph. 4:15 so that we will:]

no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and BLOWN HERE AND THERE BY EVERY WIND OF TEACHING…” (Eph. 4:14)

[That is, that we may be no longer children in our knowledge who are weak in the faith, and changing in our judgments, yielding easily to every temptation, readily complying with the many ‘untruths’ going around!]

“Instead, SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE, we will grow to become IN EVERY RESPECT the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, GROWS AND BUILDS ITSELF UP IN LOVE, AS EACH PART DOES ITS WORK.” (Eph. 4:15-16)

[There are two ways to understand this: One, that all the members of the church may attain a greater portion of love FOR Christ and TO one another; or know that mutual love among Christians is a great motivator for spiritual growth: it is in love that the body edifies itself; whereas a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.]

“…I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and WILL BE IN YOU.” (John 14:16-17)

WE MUST SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE, SO WE WILL GROW TO BECOME MATURE…

PENETRATE MY HEART WITH YOUR WORD…

“…the word of God is ALIVE AND ACTIVE. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it 1penetrates even to 2dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)

The word penetrates us, 1diikneomai: to go or reach through, 2merismos: a separation or distribution. The word goes through us to separate the difference between soul and spirit. The “soul” things are connected to the world around us and the “spirit” things are connected to God. The word reveals to us THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING CONNECTED TO GOD!

The word “judge” does not mean “condemn.” It means “assess.” When we show somebody a painting and say, “What’s your judgment?” we don’t mean, “What’s your condemnation?” We mean, “What’s your assessment of the quality? Is it good or bad?” So the Word of God penetrates to the deepest place in our lives and assesses what’s there. IS IT GOOD OR BAD? So, the word of God reveals to us where we are in our spiritual journey to eliminate confusion!

“…the god of this world [the devil] has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corin. 4:4)

The devil blinds the minds of unbelievers and tries to confuse the minds of Christians!!!

“…God IS NOT A GOD OF CONFUSION but of peace…” (1 Corin. 14:33)

ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD…

ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD…

What an awesome concept, being filled up with ALL OF GOD’S FULLNESS! Is that possible? Well:

“…that you may be FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD.” (Eph. 3:19)

Paul is suggesting that this is possible, but how? First, let me show an example of someone who may have experienced this.

“…people brought the sick…so that at least PETER’S SHADOW might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered…bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and ALL OF THEM WERE HEALED.” (Acts 5:15-16)

What will it take for this to happen today? Paul says:

“…I kneel before the Father…I pray that out of his glorious riches he may STRENGTHEN YOU WITH POWER through his Spirit…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…” (Eph. 3:14-17)

Why will it take so much power? Because…

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” (John 10:10) The devil comes to Steal our confidence in God and kill our faith, so Paul says:

“I pray that you…MAY HAVE POWER…to grasp how wide…long…high…deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be FILLED TO THE MEASURE of all the fullness of God.” (Eph. 3:17-19)

LET THIS BE OUR PRAYER SO WE MAY BE USED OF GOD FOR HIS GLORY

WE MUST PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION…

WE MUST PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION…

So, WE MUST PAY MORE CAREFUL ATTENTION TO WHAT WE HAVE HEARD. Then we WILL NOT DRIFT AWAY from it. Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.

Jesus, in shedding His blood for us, provided purification for our sins! We must remember this so we do not fall away!!! Remember, if we ignore this and “fall away” we will be punished for our sins, just as they were punished…

Then HOW WILL WE ESCAPE IF WE DON’T PAY ATTENTION to God’s great salvation? The Lord first announced that salvation. Those who heard him gave us the message about it. God gave witness to it through signs and wonders. He gave witness through different kinds of miracles. (Heb. 2:1-4)

Jesus did all He could while He was here on earth to prove that He is the Son of God, but unfortunately was often ignored. We need to pray that we can see Jesus’ word fulfilled in our lives:

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me WILL DO THE WORKS I HAVE BEEN DOING, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, SO THAT THE FATHER MAY BE GLORIFIED IN THE SON. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)

Whoever believes, what more can I say?

LET’S BELIEVE JESUS AND DO THOSE GREATER WORKS!!!

-Bill Stockham

GOD THE SON…

GOD THE SON…

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days HE HAS SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom [Jesus] also HE MADE THE UNIVERSE.” (Heb. 1:1-2)

Our loving Abba Father sent Jesus to us, to provide the only way for our salvation. To show us the ability Jesus has to do this magnificent task, God mentions that it is Jesus who is responsible for the creation of all things!

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Heb. 1:3)

Jesus Christ our Lord and savior is exactly like our Heavenly Father, that why He is called God, the Son…

“…about the Son God says, “YOUR THRONE, O GOD, WILL LAST FOR EVER AND EVER; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” (Heb. 1:8-9)

So, we see the Father (God) acknowledging Jesus as God, the Son. Jesus is set above all…

“To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?” (Heb. 1:13)

MAKE SURE YOUR HEART IS RIGHT WITH JESUS – TODAY!
