04-12-18 Loved One’s Devotion LEAPING FOR JOY…

My awesome, wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day:    “…you rejoice, though now FOR A LITTLE WHILE, IF NECESSARY, YOU HAVE BEEN GRIEVED BY VARIOUS TRIALS, so that the tested genuineness of your faithmore precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7)

So, Christianity is a life of tremendous joy first because we have a great and sure future to look forward to beyond all our distresses, AND second because God has a design to increase our joy in our future by means of our distresses. Peter describes the benefit of these trials, which distress us but don’t prevent us from rejoicing: they test, purify, and prove our faith.

“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil…Rejoice in that day, and LEAP FOR JOY, for behold, YOUR REWARD IS GREAT IN HEAVEN (Luke 6:22-23)

When we give ourselves to Jesus and become born again we become the enemy of the devil and it is his mission to: “…to steal and kill and destroy…” thankfully, Jesus said: “I have come that they may have LIFE AND HAVE IT TO THE FULL.” (John 10:10)

“My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, THINK OF IT AS PURE JOY. Your faith will be put to the test. You know that when that happens IT WILL PRODUCE IN YOU THE STRENGTH TO CONTINUE. The strength to keep going must be allowed to finish its work. Then you will be ALL YOU SHOULD BE. You will have everything you need.” (James 1:2-4)

NO MATTER WHAT WE ARE FACING, JESUS SAID HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US!

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says:] “…you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, THINK OF IT AS PURE JOY. !!!That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika and Kaleigh

04-11-18 Loved One’s Devotion OK, SO HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THIS DIVINE NATURE…

My awesome, wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day:   “…you may participate in the divine natureMAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ADD to your faithknowledgeself-controlperseverancegodliness …mutual affection; and…love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, THEY WILL KEEP YOU FROM BEING INEFFECTIVE AND UNPRODUCTIVE in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blindforgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.” (2 Pet. 1:4-9)

It is God’s desire for us as Christians to have a divine nature, we are His children and He desires for us to be one with Him: “…that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that THEY ALSO MAY BE IN US (John 17:20-21) So, we take on that divine nature by adding each of these Christian qualities to our lives…

“Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE;” (2 Pet. 1:10)

Peter denied the Lord and then He became a very powerful man of God just walking by people and his shadow passing over them and they were healed (Acts 5:15). So, he knows what he is talking about…

“For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but WE WERE EYEWITNESSES OF HIS MAJESTY.” (2 Pet. 1:16)

PLEASE HELP US LORD NOT TO BE BLINDED TO YOUR MAJESTY

04-10-18 Loved One’s Devotion CAN WE REALLY LIVE A GODLY LIFE…

My awesome, wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day:   “His divine power HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING WE NEED FOR A GODLY LIFE through our 1knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Pet. 1:3) 1epignōsis: two words: epi: marked byGinōskō: In the Jewish religious sense, it was used to describe sexual relations, as in Adam knew Eve, therefore, it is an intimate knowledge of one another marked by the birth of a child. When we give our lives to the Lord we have the “mark” of an intimate knowing of our Abba Father. What is that mark? GRACE and PEACE BE YOURS IN ABUNDANCE through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” (2 Peter 1:2)

GRACE is the desire and power to do Gods will (Phil 2:13) and have the awesome PEACE of God upon us as we go about it. That is our mark of intimacy!!!

04-09-18 Loved One’s Devotion WHAT ARE YOU SOWING…

My awesome, wonderful Grandchildren, and Annika and Kaleigh, whom I love and pray for every day:   “Do not be deceived: GOD CANNOT BE 1MOCKED. A man 2reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh WILL REAP DESTRUCTION; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit WILL REAP ETERNAL LIFE.” (Gal. 6:7-8) 1muktērizetai: the sense of wrinkling or turning up the nose to demonstrate contempt, scorn, distaste, or ridicule. 2theridō: cut and gather a crop.

To mock God is to pretend to love and serve him when we do not; to act in a false manner, to be insincere and hypocritical in our professions, pretending to obey him, love, serve, and worship him, when we do not. The devil loves to lead us into insincerity because it will produce a crop of destruction for our lives. Remember the devil: comes only to steal and kill and destroy…” (John 10:10a)So, we must diligently seek the Lord to inspire us to please Him in what we do. Remember, Jesus says this in the rest of that verse: I came that they MAY HAVE LIFE and have it 3ABUNDANTLY. (John 10:10b) 3Perissos: over and above, more than is necessary.

LET US NOT BECOME WEARY IN DOING GOOD, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9)

PRAY FOR A NEW LOVE AND RESPECT FOR GOD AND GO ABOUT DOING GOOD.
