“Jesus appeared to the eleven as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. “He who has believed and has been baptized SHALL BE SAVED; but he who has not believed shall be condemned.” (Mark 16:14-16)
These verses in Mark are not considered to be a part of the original writings by many today there are known as “textual variants.”
“A textual variant that has received considerable attention from the textual critics concerns the last twelve verses of Mark. Much has been written on the subject in the last two centuries or so. Most, if not all, scholars who have examined the subject concede that the truths presented in the verses are HISTORICALLY AUTHENTIC. The verses contain no teaching of significance that is not taught elsewhere. From the Apologetics Press.
“THESE SIGNS WILL ACCOMPANY THOSE WHO HAVE BELIEVED: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)
Listen to what Jesus teaches us: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and GREATER WORKS THAN THESE HE WILL DO; because I go to the Father.” (John 14:12)
WE ARE PROMISED “GREATER WORKS” LET’S PURSUE THEM…
