La Ley del Tope” y Roboam
Andres Panasiuk

Live Missional
Dr. William Lamb, Lee University

Church history reveals that mission often revolves around the ideals associated with Christ’s command in the Book of Acts to “Go and make disciples,” otherwise described as the Great Commission. Although this is true, more is needed from the company of Christ followers to be salt and light to the world. Rather than limiting the idea of mission to short term or long term activity, the road to missional living is a choice to sacrifice oneself for the cause of Jesus Christ. This class will explore missional values that help shape normal people into real life missionaries that will impact their world for the kingdom of God.

Masterful Mentoring
Dr. Gary Teja, author of Masterful Mentoring, and Dr. John Wagenveld

Mentoring is a cry being heard from many young and emerging leaders. Mentoring is a key part of the solution for reproducing and multiplying new leaders as older leaders age and transition to other vital roles. This workshop will address the questions raised by current leaders who want to become more effective mentors and the queries of younger leaders who want to understand how to be apt mentees.

Simple Ways to Ignite Your Discipleship Program
Darren Schalk, Christian Education director

How do we effectively disciple people? Sunday school? Small groups? Midweek meetings? How should it all come together? What should be taught? Where do we begin? Church discipleship is a loaded idea. It can be overwhelming. Can we get something going that won’t quickly fizzle out? Can we effectively see that all our gatherings are actually helping people grow closer to Christ? In this session we’ll discuss a few simple ways to ignite (or reignite) your discipleship programs, allowing you and your people to truly grow in their walk with Christ.

To the Regions Beyond Your Reach Is Only as Good as Your Grasp of Preparation
Host: Dr. Hector Ortiz, Ph.D., Co-Hosts: Bishops/Presbyters David Browder, Stephen Masilela, Clayton Martin, Main Speaker: Dr. Ken Gnanakan, Ph.D.

The future of any institution will depend on the development of its leadership. The annals of leadership has proven that no institution can grow and expand without the intrinsic and extrinsic development of its leadership. The present postmodern world context will demand leadership development that engages indigenousness, migrations, globalization, contextualization, and ecumenism. In the new world order, mission outreach will require a holistic integrated approach of ministry preparation that will create a ministry of self-sufficiency versus a dependent ministry. This is what the GCTS/ACTS consortia is committed to—the challenges of the Regions Beyond.

We are the Generation that Can End Hunger by 2030
Bishop José García, director of Church Relations, Bread for the World

Hunger is a massive, complex, age-old human struggle. However, in the last 50 years, global hunger and poverty have been reduced from 2 billion to 795 million people. At Bread for the World we have faith to believe that this is the generation that can end hunger. God reminded Israel through the prophets to, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:8, 9, NIV). This is part of proclaiming the holistic gospel message of the Good News that speaks God’s complete “Shalom” to a fallen world.

Intro to College and Career Ministries
Kirk Rising, International Youth Ministries director

The eighteen to thirty-four years old demographic is disappearing from church, and faith in Jesus across the evangelical world.  This is no different for the Church of God of Prophecy.  We recognize three groups we must target for discipleship and training:

  • The College and University Student
  • The Young Professional
  • The Young Married

Our goal for CCMN is to move this age demographic from sitting in our churches, to serving the church and the communities in which they live. This workshop is for those interested in developing and engaging this age group in the maturing of their faith, while creating socially relevant outreach opportunities.
