First-ever Schools of Practical and Advanced Studies Conducted in the Democratic Republic of Congo
In the Democratic Republic of Congo over 274 students met in two schools for the first ever School of Practical and Advanced Studies sponsored by the Center for Biblical Leadership. Classes convened April 18-21 in the capital city of Kinshasa with 160 students. The second school met April 23-26 in Lubumbashi with 114 students.
National Overseer Ntambwe Beya provided excellent hospitality, accommodations and fellowship to the CBL staff. The first term of SOPAS included three classes: Pastoral Leadership Development I, instructor Mark Menke; Ecclesial Identity, instructor Adrian Varlack; and Theology, instructor Dr. Hector Ortiz, CBL Director.
In both schools, students were eager to learn, and the instruction was well-delivered and received. God’s presence marked our times together. At the conclusion of these schools eight ministers chose to join the Church of God of Prophecy. At the conclusion of each school, students celebrated as they received their first-ever certificates of completion from the School of Practical and Advanced Studies.
