An African Harvest Cry Update
A Message from General Overseer Randall E. Howard

HowardThe offerings are flowing in daily from individual donors and local churches who have been stirred to support this special effort for the African Harvest Cry. I learned of one small church this week that sent their offering in for $100. They wanted to follow the illustration we first mentioned where smaller churches might set aside $25 each month to the Assembly to contribute to this cause. I was blessed to hear of their desire to help doing their part.

This precious church reminded me that this is the way that the Kingdom of God has often moved forward in strength. Small churches, small donations, donors giving what they can to make a contribution and play their part in the great work of God. Any who have been a pastor know that very often local churches are carried by the faithful and consistent contributions of donors who cannot give large amounts. But in mass every small donation accumulates to become significant and impacting as they all flow together.

On this understanding I cheer on each church that has given or has made plans to give toward the Africa Harvest Cry Offering. Your contribution, no matter how large or small, is accumulating like snow flakes in a soft winter snow. Quietly they come down, quietly they land, and quietly the snow deepens until a whole city may come to a halt of activity. Every offering makes the total impact possible.

Now in the few remaining weeks before this Assembly I encourage every remaining church to assess what you can do for this cause. I call to every individual donor to consider what you can do. Together on Saturday of the Assembly our united compassion will accumulate to bring a massive offering of help for the African Harvest Cry. As always, Harvest Partner churches can send this offering as a Harvest Partner Level Two offering. Individual donors and churches that are not Harvest Partners can send this offering as a Helping Hands offering. Both avenues should be clearly designated as "Africa Harvest Cry" offerings.
