International Assembly Deceased Ministers’ Presentation
The Deceased Ministers’ presentation honoring the bishops
and evangelists who have passed away between June 1, 2006 and May 31, 2008 is
scheduled on Wednesday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. Family members will be honored
guests and seated on the stage during the program as a pictorial presentation
of the deceased ministers is projected.
Every effort has been made by the Ministerial Services
Department to secure the names and photographs of the honored deceased. For many
years, as the program is about to begin, an Overseer will rush up to see if a
deceased minister in his state, region, or nation has been included. Now is a
great time to have the Administrative Assistant in these areas check their list
of deceased ministers to be sure Ministerial Services has been notified. We attempt
to contact the family and request a recent photograph at the time we receive
the initial notification of death. However, we do not always have current
addresses, nor do we receive photographs from all requests.
This program is a highlight of the International Assembly,
especially to those that have lost a loved one. In fact, family members that
are no longer affiliated with our church travel great distances to be a part of
this tribute to their loved one.
Unfortunately, if we do not receive notification of a death and/or
a photograph of the deceased by July 1, 2008, it will not be possible to
include them in the program. Information may be submitted via e-mail by sending it to liz@cogop.org.
Our ministers have been so faithful, and it is our desire to
honor them with this tribute. We will appreciate your time and effort to insure
all of our deceased ministers are honored.
