Northeastern LDI Report
Students and faculty gathered at the Penn Stater Conference
Center for the Northeastern Leadership Development Institute, April 10-12, 2008.
Three CBL instructors conducted classes attended by thirty-two students.Dr. H. E. Cardin taught a class entitled “The Power of
Accountability and Mentoring” which highlighted the power of being an example.
Students were equipped to mentor other believers in their Christian walk. One
student commented, “Dr. Cardin gave so much practical information. Great
class!”
Larry Duncan’s class on “Self-Care in Ministry” encouraged students
to follow Jesus to “the back of the boat” where rest is found in the midst of
the high demands of Christian ministry. One student wrote, “I would encourage
others in ministry to attend this much needed course!”Marvin Eskew conducted a two-part class on “Becoming a
Church on Mission” and “A Biblical Strategy for Making Disciples.” Bro. Eskew said, 
“It was exciting to spend three days together with students in Pennsylvania who
were eager to discover creative ways of being a church on mission and
effectively making disciples.” One of his students wrote, “I learned so much. I
truly was blessed immensely. This was just what I needed!”

about the conference:
“What an awesome opportunity was granted to Pastors and
Leadership of the Northeast on April 10-12th at the Penn State Campus in State
College, PA. During these few hours, anointed men of God shared their hearts
and their curriculum under the guidance of the Spirit of God to hungry, thirsty
leaders from this region! There was consolation in my heart, as an Overseer, to
see the hand of God specifically influence Pastors and Leaders to make class
choices that would provide answers, inspiration, and the precise direction they
needed to help them to continue their pursuit of the call of God upon their
lives. It could actually be weeks or months before the true impact is realized,
or the benefits are seen that this Northeast LDI has brought to this region!”
