Stewardship Praise Report
The following report comes from the Mastin Lake Church in Huntsville, AL. Pastor Thornburg had a Stewardship Emphasis Month in January 2008. It is easy to measure the financial growth—$19,000 in tithes for February. The other blessings are even more extraordinary and of eternal significance—29 saved in February.
“We had 149 Sunday! This February we received over $19,000 in tithes—a new record for Mastin Lake! I have to give part of the credit to having a stewardship emphasis month in January and having Sis. Couch to come and teach. Our pastors really need to have her come to their churches. She says that traditionally after an emphasis month the finances will increase for the following five months!
We received an offering last Sunday morning for a family in need, and it totaled over $5,500! God is opening the hearts of our people. Even as some close their hearts, God is sending an inflow of givers to the church! The saying is true, you can’t out give God.
We also are taking seven leaders to Dr. Cutshall’s H20 Conference in St. Louis the 13th and 14th. His training has changed Mastin Lake Church forever.
We are planning to have our Easter Service in the gym this year. We have looked at previous Easters, and if attendance spikes as it has the last few years we should easily break the 200 mark—another record for Mastin Lake!”
In an updated email, Pastor Thornburg reports 239 in attendance on Easter Sunday, and 10 people saved!
