Shaun McKinley
Administrative Liaison to the General Overseer
Shaun McKinley joined the General Overseer's staff in November 2006.  Shaun is a fourth generation Church of God of Prophecy minister.  He came to the Lord at an early age and, being the son of a pastor, has been actively involved in local church ministry for nearly twenty years.  Shaun’s most active area of ministry has been in Children’s Ministry.  He has served as a local children’s pastor, as regional/state ministry director in five states in the US, and served as Administrative Assistant in International Children’s Ministries at the COGOP International Offices. 

Prior to joining our staff, Shaun served for two years as Associate Pastor of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy in Cleveland, Tennessee coordinating all adult, discipleship and service-oriented ministry efforts.  His newest assignment, as Administrative Liaison to the General Overseer, brings him back to the International Offices in a newly created position. Shaun oversees various projects and coordinates many of the administrative duties and communication functions for the Office of the General Overseer.  Shaun has a passion for serving God by serving His people, assisting ministry locally and abroad.

Shaun married Stephanie Shroyer in 2004 and is the proud father of their daughter, Reagan Caroline.

Job Description
Responsible to
  • General Overseer

General Duties
  • To assist the General Overseer in coordinating and implementing the duties and responsibilities of the office of the General Overseer
  • To oversee the completion of various special projects as they are identified or needs arise 
  • To serve on or with various committees as assigned by the General Overseer
  • To assist the General Overseer in strategically incorporating and advancing the mission of the International Office throughout every ministry and service-oriented department of the International Office
  • To serve as liaison between the General Overseer and the ministries of the International Office when necessary

Specific Duties

  • To develop and maintain a communications plan for the General Overseer’s Office, to include maintaining a current and active web presence
  • To coordinate and supervise all public relations efforts of the International Office
  • To coordinate responses to general inquiries that are received by the International Office regarding church history, polity, doctrine and events
  • To attend functions/meetings as a representative of the General Overseer
  • To receive all requests for donations to local charities and offering requests.  Respond to all requests and oversee donation distribution only to those organizations that help fulfill the mission or share the core values of the International Office
  • To research and analyze data for use by the General Overseer
  • To coordinate legal counsel for any pending litigation
  • To assist in coordinating and facilitating meetings with General Presbyters and International Office Staff
  • To serve as secretary to the Administrative Committee
  • To coordinate weekly Upper Room Services
  • To assist the General Overseer, Executive Secretary to the General Overseer and General Assembly Task Force with the preparation and completion of duties for the annual International General Assembly
